Our standard
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG is the international standard used by most public-sector and healthcare-adjacent websites in the United States.
What we have implemented
- Minimum 17px body text and clear visual hierarchy
- Tap and click targets at least 48px tall
- Visible 3px amber focus outline on every interactive element
- Skip-to-content link at the top of every page
- Semantic landmarks: header, nav, main, footer
- Image alt text on every meaningful image; decorative icons marked aria-hidden
- Color contrast that meets AA on body text, navigation, and buttons
- Keyboard navigation works on every interactive element
- Form fields have visible labels and autocomplete attributes
Known limitations
Third-party embeds — for example, an embedded Google Map — may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We work to minimize reliance on third-party embeds where possible and offer text-based alternatives (NAP address, phone) on the same page.
