Who this is for
Door-through-door rides fit seniors who have stopped driving but still have a full schedule, and families who cannot keep taking time off work for every appointment. It also fits the few weeks after a procedure when driving is medically off-limits.
How it works
Free in-home assessment
We look at the typical week — what appointments, where, how often — and price the rides honestly.
Caregiver matching
We pair a caregiver whose vehicle and schedule fit, and who is comfortable assisting with mobility devices if needed.
Ongoing supervision
We coordinate around new appointments, send reminders, and adjust as the schedule changes.
Why families call
Stopping driving is a hard milestone. Most of the seniors we drive miss the freedom more than they will admit. A regular caregiver who shows up on time, knows the route, and does not rush starts to feel less like losing the car and more like having a chauffeur.
Door-through-door matters because curbside drop-off is where falls happen — wet parking lots, long corridors, waiting rooms with bad seating. The caregiver walks the whole route with your parent.
We coordinate transportation visits with personal care or companion care when possible, so a single caregiver covers the day instead of three different shifts.
Common questions
- Is transportation covered by IHSS or Medi-Cal?
- IHSS may authorize hours for accompaniment to medical appointments for some eligible recipients [DRAFT — VERIFY: ihss_covered_task_categories]. Some Medi-Cal plans also offer separate non-emergency medical transportation benefits [DRAFT — VERIFY: medi_cal_nemt_benefit]. We can help you understand which path may apply.
- Can the caregiver take notes at the doctor's appointment?
- Yes, with your permission. Many families want a second set of ears in the exam room — caregivers can write down what the doctor said and share it with you afterward.
- Do you offer wheelchair-accessible transportation?
- We can transport ambulatory clients and clients who use foldable wheelchairs or walkers. For non-ambulatory clients or power wheelchairs, we coordinate with a wheelchair-van provider — ask at the assessment.
